T&F Athletes Notch Wins at FSU Relays

Florida track and field athletes Antonio Emperator and Chip Heuser notched wins on the final day of the FSU Relays in Tallahassee, Fla., Saturday. The event was the Gators' first of the 2004 outdoor season.
Emperator won the hammer throw gold competition with a mark of 55.54m/182-03, while Ryan McIntyre finished fourth with a throw of 52.59m/172-06. McIntyre also finished fourth in the discus gold event with a mark of 49.32m/161-10, while Steven Long placed sixth (47.73m/156-07) and Jeff Hoffman finished seventh (47.53m/155-11).
Heuser won the pole vault gold event after clearing 5.10m/16-08.75.
In the women's pole vault gold competition, Chandra Lacombe finished fourth with a mark of 3.60m/11-9.75. Dara Altman and Dana VanWagner tied for sixth place after clearing 3.45m/11-3.75.
The Gators return home to host the 61st annual Coca-Cola Florida Relays beginning Wednesday, March 24.
