2013: Redshirted his first cross country season at Florida.
Prep: A distance athlete from Hilton Head High School in Hilton Head Island, S.C… .The 2011 Class 3A South Carolina State Cross Country Champion (15:36), leading the Seahawks to the team title… As a senior, helped Hilton Head High School to a runner-up finish at the state meet… The 2012 state champion in the 4x800-meter relay, as the opening leg, and turned in runner-up finishes in both the 1,600 and 3,200 at the 2012 Class 3A South Carolina State Track & Field Championships… Had high school personal bests of 4:25.21 (1,600) and 9:18.35 (3,200), and was named the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette Cross Country Athlete of the Year.
