
Gators Begin Fall Schedule on Monday

Florida apart of 16 team field at the Ocean Course Invitational
Pre-Tournament Notes
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators open their 2017 fall season at the Ocean Course Invitational in Kiawah Island, S.C.
The tournament, hosted by College of Charleston, consists of 16 teams. The field includes three teams that finished last season in the top 25, Florida (5), Florida State (6) and NC State (20).
The Gators will be seeing some familiar faces as four SEC schools in Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt also kick off their seasons at Kiawah Island.
Florida is the defending SEC Champions after hoisting the conference trophy in record setting fashion in 2017. The Gators finished the tournament with a three round total of 842 (-22), the lowest total in tournament history.
Emily Glaser returned three contributors to last year's team in senior Taylor Tomlinson, sophomore Marta Perez and sophomore Carlotta Ricolfi.
Course Information: The tournament is being played at the Par 73, 6,109 yards Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort has played host to the 2007 Senior PGA and 2012 PGA Championships. It will also host the 2021 PGA Championship.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds over two days. The first 36-holes will be played on Monday. The final 18-holes on Tuesday.
The Gators' Lineup
Taylor Tomlinson
Tomlinson returns the lowest stroke average on the team at a 72.79 clip. Last season, Tomlinson was named an All-American by Golfweek and WGCA for her performance on the course.
Marta Perez
Perez was a regular in the Gator lineup in 2016-17. She played in 31 rounds in her first season in Gainesville while finishing the season with a 72.97 stroke average, the fourth best on the team.
Carlotta Ricolfi
Ricolfi also saw plenty of time on the course during her first season in orange and blue. She teed it up for Florida in 19 rounds during the 2016-17 campaign finishing the season with three top 25 finishes including a share of the Florida Challenge title.
Elin Esborn
After redshirting in 2016-17, Esborn will officially tee it up for the first time as a Gator this week. The Sweden native helped her country finish fourth at the European Amateur Team Championship over the summer.
Addie Baggarly
Baggarly will be playing in her first tournament for the Gators. Father, Mark Baggarly, suited up for the Gators Men's Golf team from 1991-94, under head coach Buddy Alexander.
Also Competing
Lauren Waidner
The Florida native will make her debut for the Gators as she will compete in the event as an individual.
