What Happened
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 18th-ranked Florida Gators did a wire-to-wire number on over-matched Saint Francis Wednesday night at Exactech/Arena O'Connell Center.Senior guard Xaivian Lee led the team in scoring for the fourth time in the last five games, finishing with 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting and pacing six Gators into double-figure scoring. Junior forward Alex Condon had 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while junior center Rueben Chinyelu had his fifth double-double of the season with 12 points on 5-for-5 from the floor and 11 boards.
Eleven of the 12 UF scholarship players who got on the floor got into the scoring column, as did 7-foot-9 walk-on center Olivier Rioux, the tallest player in college basketball history, who threw in a dunk off a feed from freshman CJ Ingram with 42 seconds to go in the game, much to the delight of the O'Dome crowd.
UF jumped to a 12-2 lead in the first five minutes behind points from six different players. The lead was 19-6 (with the Gators shooting 80%) after seven minutes, and 30-9 (on 75%) after 10 minutes, with the home team taking a 24-point advantage, 47-23, into the locker room and building on it in the second half.
