Florida swimming & diving kicked off Georgia rivalry weekend with a home dual-meet sweep, as the men won 191-154 and the women 194-145.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4/6 Florida swimming and diving teams opened SEC competition with a home dual-meet sweep over No. 8/12 Georgia on Friday afternoon inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center Natatorium. The Gator men posted a 191-154 victory, while the women secured a 194-145 win.
Prior to the first event, UF Athletics 2025 Hall of Fame inductee Theresa Andrews was honored.
The Gators swept both relay events and collected 14 individual victories across the 24 combined events. Six women recorded eight NCAA cut times, while Ahmed Jaouadi and Josh Liendo each recorded one for the men on Friday.
On the men's side, Liendo led the Gators with a team-high 27 points in his first competition back since representing Canada at the 2025 World Aquatics World Cup. The senior swept his individual events, winning the 50-yard freestyle (18.68), the 50-yard butterfly (19.69) and the 50-yard fly with an NCAA qualifying time of 43.87. Liendo also contributed to both winning relays, swimming the fly leg (19.42) on the 200-medley relay and anchoring the 200-free relay with an 18.54 split to close out the meet.
Following his first-place finish in the 1000-yard free on Thursday, Jaouadi added another distance victory in the 500-yard free with an NCAA cut time of 4:15.82. Sophomores Devin Dilger and Aiden Norman also earned individual wins, with Dilger taking the 100-yard free in 43.02 and Norman following with a first-place time of 1:42.70 in the 200-yard backstroke.
On the women's side, Anita Bottazzo and Catie Choate each led the Gators with 27 points, winning two individual events apiece and recording two NCAA qualifying times on Friday. Choate led off Florida's winning 200-yard medley relay with a 24.10 back split before Bottazzo followed with a 25.74 breaststroke leg, helping the Gators post a first-place time of 1:37.09.
Bottazzo went on to sweep the breast events, posting NCAA cut times of 57.05 in the 100-yard breast and 2:07.89 in the 200-yard breast, while also anchoring the 200-free relay with a 22.09 split. Choate added victories in both back events, winning the 100-yard (51.53) and 200-yard (1:53.67) events each with NCAA qualifying marks.
Julie Brousseau and Lainy Kruger also notched individual victories and NCAA cut times. Kruger opened Friday's individual events with a win in the 200-yard free (1:44.05), while Brousseau closed out the individual races by taking first in the 400-yard IM (4:08.69). Additionally, Grace Rabb and Molly Mayne recorded NCAA qualifying times in the 200-yard breast, finishing in 2:10.58 and 2:10.88, respectively.

The Gators now turn their focus to mid-season preparations as they head to Athens, Ga., for the Georgia Invitational. The three-day meet runs from Wednesday, Nov. 19, through Friday, Nov. 21, at Gabrielson Natatorium. Florida has swept the event in each of the last two seasons, with the men tallying 1,157.5 points and the women 1,156.5 in last year's victory.
