Gators Set for Final Round of Carpet Capital Collegiate

Junior John Axelsen is tied for 13th individually after the second round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate.
DALTON, Ga. – The Florida men's golf team wrapped up the second round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate on Saturday and currently sits in 12th place on the leaderboard.
John Axelsen continued to be a consistent spot in the Gators' lineup through round two. The junior finished at just 2 over on the day, putting him at 2 over overall and tied for 13th as an individual.
Freshman Ricky Castillo also had a solid day on the course, carding six birdies to finish at 1 under. The Yorba Linda, Calif., native is currently 4 over through all 36 holes and tied for 24th on the individual leaderboard.
18 holes remain in the event, giving Florida the opportunity to go low and try to climb the leaderboard. The final round is set to begin tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. ET.

"We just made too many big numbers today. We had plenty of birdies, but couldn't make them count. I believe in this team and their attitudes have been great. We are going to dig deep and play a great final round tomorrow."
