
Kelly Fertel sets the fastest time by a Gator this season in the 400 IM.

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 19 Gators defeated the No. 6 Hoosiers 198-155 and fell to the No. 4 Longhorns 222-126, at Lee & Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Saturday. Kelly Fertel led Florida with the fastest time this season by a Gator in the 400 IM.
In the opening event of the day, Emma Ball, Kelly Fertel, Mabel Zavaros, and Bella Garofalo combined for a time of 1:42.96 as they placed third in the 200 Medley Relay.
Taylor Ault set a new season best and the top time by a Gator this season in the 500 Free with a swim of 4:49.49. Ault finished in third place. Leah Braswell recorded a new personal-best time of 4:50.30 and placed fourth.
In the 200 Back, Mabel Zavaros finished with a third-place time of 1:58.50. Sydney Sell set a new season best with a swim of 1:59.16 and placed fourth.
Garofalo recorded another podium finish, as she placed third in the 100 Free with a season-best swim of 50.38.
Vanessa Pearl notched a personal-best swim with a time of 2:12.72 in the 200 Breast and placed second. Her time made the NCAA B Cut. Fertel came in sixth with a mark of 2:16.77.
In the 400 IM, Fertel posted the fastest time by a Gator this season with a swim of 4:12.25 and placed first. Fertel's time is an NCAA B Cut time. Vanessa Pearl placed second with a time of 4:15.29. Hannah Burns finished in fourth with a time of
4:17.52, which is a season best.
Brooke Madden recorded a second-place finish in the 3-meter with a total score of 337.70. Her score is a new season best and is an NCAA Zone Standard. Elizabeth Perez combined for a score of 289.50 and placed fifth. Perez collected an NCAA Zone Standard score.
Garofalo, Ball, Mabel Zavaros, and Fertel placed second in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:24.33. Kirschtine Balbuena, Georgia Marris, Pearl, and Burns finished third with a swim of 3:25.95.
