
Men's Tennis Sophomore van Overbeek Reaches Final At Texas Invitational

Florida sophomore Bob van Overbeek (Boca Raton, Fla.) reached the singles final at the Texas Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas, with a pair of victories on Saturday.
A returning SEC All-Freshman performer, van Overbeek has posted four wins over the past two days and will face Oklahoma's Peerakit Siributwong on Sunday for the title. The Gator sophomore holds a 27-8 career singles record and reached the quarterfinals in October's USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships.
On Saturday, van Overbeek scored a 6-3, 6-2 quarterfinal win over Oklahoma's Lawrence Formentera before topping Texas A&M's Colin Hoover, 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-1, in the semifinals.
