Women's Basketball Celebrates 2008-09's Success at Postseason Banquet

The University of Florida women's basketball team held its 2008-09 postseason banquet and celebrated one of the most successful seasons its 35-year history on Wednesday evening in the Touchdown Terrace located inside Ben Hill Griffin Football Stadium.
In front of the largest crowd ever assembled for the team's final gathering, more than 200 people reflected on the Gators' 2008-09 campaign highlighted by the squad tying a program record by totaling 24 wins, earning a spot in the final national rankings, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004 and compiling a program-record 15-game winning streak.
After rising junior Susan Yenser provided the invocation for the dinner, second-year head coach Amanda Butler shared her thoughts on the year, also making note of the long list of accomplishments, records and milestones achieved by the 2008-09 Florida club.
