Five Compete at Georgia Last Chance for Gator Women

Five women traveled to Athens, Ga., to compete at the Georgia Last Chance, a meet named for its purpose, as it was the last chance for the Gator swimmers to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet in March.
Jenny Lago (Wellington) claimed fourth place in the 100 butterfly in a provisional time of 55.36, following her mark of 56.12 in the prelims. Kelsy Smith (Cary, N.C.) took first place in the finals of the 100 backstroke with her time of 56.78, after she notched a 57.13 in the preliminary event.
In the 100 breaststroke Mandy Huff (Gold Hill, N.C.) took the top spot with her finals time of 1:03.65, a provisional mark, while Amanda Hartley (Tallahassee) finished in second with a provisional mark of 1:03.79. Caroline Drab (Lund, Sweden) rounded out the trio of Gator competitors in the event with a fourth-place finish in a time of 1:04.41.
The Gator women return to action when they travel again to Athens, Ga., for the NCAA Championships March 16-18.
