Ten Swimmers Provisionally Qualify For NCAAs

Eight females and two males provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships next month at the Last Chance held at the Stephen C. O'Connell Natatorium Wednesday evening.
On the women's side, senior Anna Chapman (St. Simons Island, Ga.) qualified in the 500-yard freestyle with a provisional time of 4:50.28 and sophomore Jessica Schrock (Palm Harbor, Fla.) also swam a qualifying time of 4:50.67. Sophomore Katie Kennedy (Ft. Myers, Fla.) swam a provisional time in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:17.42 and junior Blair Beard (Sarasota, Fla.) also qualified in a career best 4:17.79. In the 200-yard freestyle, senior Diane Tennison (Lafayette, La.) swam a provisional time of 1:50.01. Junior Jaime Ellis (Spring, Texas) provisionally qualified in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.56. In the 200-yard breaststroke, freshman Mandy Huff (Gold Hill, N.C.) swam a provisional time of 2:18.17. Junior Casey Seland (Longwood, Fla.) also swam a provisional time in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:00.27.
On the men's side, senior Ian Chadsey (Reston, Va.) had two provisional marks in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.76) and the 200-yard breaststroke (1:58.93). Freshman Brian Hartley (Indianapolis, Ind.) also provisionally qualified in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:38.92.
The Women's NCAA Championships will be held March 20-22 in Auburn, Ala. and the Men's NCAA Championships will be held March 27-29 in Austin, Texas.
