The University of Florida Alumni Association and the University Athletic Association are teaming up to host the third annual "Rally in the Swamp," presented by Alert Today FL, a student pep rally to be held Sunday, Aug. 21 to kick off the 2016 school year.
The event will start at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.
Student gates on the East side of Ben Hill Griffin Football Stadium will open at 6:00 p.m. Prior to the event, students can play games to win prizes and get free pizza courtesy of Domino's. Opportunities for campus involvement will also be showcased.
President Kent Fuchs, athletics director Jeremy Foley and head coach Jim McElwain will be on hand to welcome students back for the 2016-17 year. The event will also feature the Florida marching band, cheerleaders, Dazzlers, mascots and nearly 400 Florida student-athletes. Students will learn some of the great traditions that make Saturdays in the Swamp so special to the Gator Nation.
Be sure to join the "Rally in the Swamp" Facebook event and include #RallyintheSwamp in your social media images and posts.
Student tickets are currently on sale at FloridaGators.com/students. In addition, the Gator Ticket Office will be open for any students that still need to purchase 2016 season tickets.
The Gators kick off the 2016 season on Saturday, Sept. 3, against Massachusetts at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network. Season and single-game tickets are on sale now via FloridaGators.com/tickets.
