
Warner, Hinds Advance to Thursday's Finals

Senior Kahlia Warner wins the 1-Meter diving prelims
ATLANTA -- University of Florida diver Kahlia Warner and UF swimmer Natalie Hinds advanced to Thursday night's finals session following Day Two preliminary competition at the 2016 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. In total, nine Gators competed this afternoon across four individual and two relay events.
Warner, a senior standout from Queensland, Australia, led the way on the 1-Meter event which highlighted UF's preliminary session. Her first-place mark of 329.60 sends her to the 'A' final tonight and locks up an All-American status for the second year in a row.
In the pool, Hinds qualified in the 50-Yard Freestyle after clocking a time of 22.11 while finishing 13th among the field of 55. Her Top-16 prelims finish solidifies an Honorable Mention All-American accolade and a spot in tonight's Consolation Finals.
The 200-Yard Freestyle Relay team of freshman Mollie Pulte and seniors Ashlee Linn, Mollie Pulte, and Lindsey McKnight opened today's prelims competition. The quartet finished 19th overall after touching out with a time of 1:29.95.
In the 500-Yard freestyle, four Gators competed among the field of 69. Senior Jessica Thielmann posted the top finish between the Gator participants, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 4:42.60. Juniors Autumn Finke (4:44.21, season-best) and Taylor Katz (4:45.49) followed behind in 37th and 42nd place. Sophomore Amelia Maughan qualified in the event but did not swim.
Three members from the Orange and Blue also took part in the 200 IM prelims. Senior Ashlee Linn led the trio, touching out with a season-best time of 1:57.71, which tied for 27th-place. Georgia Hohmann's time of 2:01.51 ranked 38th among the field while newcomer Hannah Burns finished 55th overall (2:01.51).
The Florida swimmers concluded their morning session in the 400-Yard Medley Relay, finishing 26th overall. The foursome of Hohmann, Lindsey McKnight, Hinds, and Linn posted a time of 3:37.73.
