BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Nine Florida volleyball players capped off the 2015 season with SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll accolades, announced by the league this week. Rhamat Alhassan, Simone Antwi, Abby Detering, Samantha Dubiel, Taelor Kellum, Gabby Mallette, Nikki O'Rourke, Ziva Recek and Lindsey Rogers were nine of 58 Gator student-athletes that picked up academic honors from the conference.
Florida's nine selections to the Fall Academic Honor Roll are second to a program-best 10 honor roll picks on several occasions. The Gators had 69 percent of their eligible student-athletes honored, most among University of Florida fall sports, including Kellum, an early enrollee in spring 2015.
While Alhassan, Dubiel, Kellum and Rogers picked up their first academic honors at the University of Florida, Antwi, Detering, O'Rourke and Recek made it clean sweeps with accolades every year at Florida. Mallette was honored for the third time during her tenure as a Gator.
Antwi, Mallette, O'Rourke and Recek are all slated to graduate in 2016, while Anti on track to earn her master's degree in international business after walking with her undergraduate degree in Business Management last spring.
Of UF's nine conference academic honorees, two were named 2015 All-Americans on the court: Alhassan and Recek.
