Gators Tied for 10th Entering Final Round of NCAA Regional

RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Florida women's golf team slipped into a tie for 10th place at the NCAA Regional Championship after shooting +19 (307) in Round 2 action on Friday.
The Gators have totaled a score of 30-over 606 over the tournament's first two rounds, led by Karolina Vlckova. She fired Florida's best round of the day, a 1-over 73, to move up the leaderboard to a shared 14th place.
Joining her in the top 20 is Anna Young, whose score of +4 (148) puts her in a tie for 19th. She carded a 2-over 75 on Friday.
Maria Torres shot +6 (78) in Round 2, while Taylor Tomlinson and Camilla Hedberg both recorded scores of +9 (81).
With a score of 5-over 581, South Carolina is the leader in the team competition. LSU's Madelene Sagstrom remains the individual leader with a total of 6-under 138.
The Gators look to move up in the standings when they return to the Lonnie Poole Golf Course Saturday for the final round of the NCAA Regional Championship. The top six teams following Round 3 will advance to the NCAA Championship.

On the Gators' performance in Round 2:
“Today certainly wasn't the round we were looking for. The course played tough today, but a lot of the mistakes we made were of our own doing, including poor course management. We made too many big numbers to be competitive today.”
On her thoughts entering the final round:
“We are a good team and tomorrow we need to prove that by not beating ourselves and capitalizing on the opportunities we get. It's important for us to focus on what we can control tomorrow and see what happens.”
