Gators Fire Team-Low Round in Day Three of 2014 NCAA Championship
Thursday, May 22, 2014 | Women's Golf
Firing their lowest round (290) of the 2014 NCAA Championship so far, the Florida women's golf team takes many positives from day three at Tulsa Country Club.
Ending the first two days at a team-high 9-over (79), freshman Karolina Vlckova paced Florida's five in day three. Vlckova finished the day even-par, making three birdies, two of which were on the difficult front nine.
Senior Elcin Ulu made a team-best five birdies and shot just 1-over in the third round, her best 18-hole score of the championship event.
Duke replaces Oklahoma in the No. 1 spot on the team leaderboard after an impressive under-par performance today. As a team, UF is in 19th place at 47-over (887) heading into the final round of the NCAA Championship.
Head Coach Emily Glaser Says: “Elcin and Karolina had great rounds for us today. Similar to yesterday, just a few big numbers that cost us from posting a number that would have moved us up the leaderboard.
“We are doing a lot of things well and hopefully we can pull it all together tomorrow.”
